What Futures Are You Imagining?
Regenerative Futures brings together a diverse group of humans (based on the island of Ireland) who are imagining more regenerative futures in which human societies flourish symbiotically with all life.
If you are interested in joining our regular community calls, please email us.
What unites us?
We believe that to flourish humanity needs to undergo an inner revolution (great turning) that shifts how we relate not only to ourselves, each other and all of life but to the choices we individually and collectively make.
In service of this, our collective intent is to create opportunities for humble dialogue around the stories we currently follow and serve as a catalyst for more regenerative and connected (embodied) ways of being, thinking and doing.
How might we be A catalyst?
We feel that by coming together we can:
– Weave deeper connections between those who envision more “regenerative” futures;
– Unlock a sense of potential as to what might be regenerated;
– Shift from talking about “regenerative practices” to exploring how “regenerative practice” might reconnect the inner (spiritual / why) and the outer (how);
– Create scaffolding that not only supports members but equally offers guidance to others who would like to walk with us on this journey;
– Leverage our own networks and build new ones to reach a wider audience and broaden these conversations;
– Hold space for curiosity, being in the unknowingness of this moment and what may come next.
What then are we currently curious about?
Food Systems
How we think about food and food systems
- What words come to mind when we imagine a transformed / regenerative food system?
- What does it look, sound, feel like?
Language
How do the words and concepts we use influence how we think?
- What is degenerative?
- Generative?
- Regenerative?
- Sustainable?
Choices
How much do we think about the choices we make?
- How do we support alternative choice-making?
- What might be possible if we put life first?
Communication
How might we move such conversations into the mainstream?
- How might “this” be more effectively communicated?
- Indeed, what role might the group play in this?
For us, regenerative is:
• Reviving and renewing. It is not exploitative. It is gifting, reciprocal and practices the honourable harvest;
• A word that sums up a very big challenge of our times;
• Deeply rooted in spiritual, indigenous and wisdom traditions, and in more than human care ethics;
• About aligning with natural cycles and patterns;
• About asking how we might each serve the greater whole;
• About strengthening the web of life with every touch;
• A flow – [when] we follow the flow of nature, the river, our intuition we will instinctively be led in a regenerative direction for ourselves and nature;
• A process, an approach, a mindset, a state of being.
